Wake up to a fresh list of companies that just raised money—ready for outreach, enrichment, or scoring. This automation runs on a daily schedule, queries recent Seed, Series A, and Series B funding rounds via Piloterr (Crunchbase data), enriches each company with key attributes (website host, employee count, location, total funding, monthly traffic), extracts the LinkedIn profile, and appends or updates a structured row in Google Sheets keyed by the unique event permalink. A merge step guarantees each enriched record aligns with its base event, and the sheet schema is pre-mapped for rapid activation by growth and sales teams.
How it works
-
Daily trigger: Runs every day on a set hour to fetch the latest rounds.
-
Multi-stage fetch: Three requests target Seed, Series A, and Series B with “announced in the last day.” Results are split into individual items.
-
Base fields set: Event type, amount (USD), announcement date, company name, event and company permalinks.
-
Enrichment call: Company info lookup adds website host, SEMrush traffic, funding-to-date, headcount, location, and founded year.
-
LinkedIn extraction: A code step selects the LinkedIn URL from a social links array.
-
Final mapping: Prepared fields are merged, then appendOrUpdate writes to Google Sheets using the event permalink as the match key; columns include company, type, money_raised, dates, country, website host, LinkedIn URL, traffic, and more.
Business value (why this is a game-changer)
-
Immediate GTM signal: Surface net-new, cash-rich prospects daily without manual research.
-
Cleaner data, fewer misses: Deterministic keys and a merge-first pattern prevent duplicates and misaligned enrichment.
-
Operator simple: Targets and frequency are editable; the sheet schema is ready for downstream tooling.
-
Scales gracefully: Batched enrichment and positional merging keep throughput stable as volumes grow.
Ideal for outbound teams, partnerships, investor relations, agency prospectors, and B2B marketers who need a reliable pulse on newly funded companies.
Manual funding-tracker builds typically take multiple engineer-weeks: scheduling, multi-endpoint fetches, enrichment, link parsing, positional merges, ID-safe upserts, and sheet schema mapping. This workflow ships those pieces together. For a team spending 5–10 hours/week on prospect discovery and data cleanup, even a conservative blended rate of $60–$100/hour yields $1,200–$4,000/month in reclaimed time—before counting upside from faster outreach and better ICP filtering. Payback is measured in months, while the daily cadence compounds pipeline quality over time.
